We hope this message finds you well as we head into the holiday season! Please note that our tutoring services will be closed from November 22nd through December 1st for Thanksgiving break. Sessions will resume on Monday, December 2nd.
While we are taking a short break, it’s important for students to maintain their study habits to stay on track for a successful semester. To help you make the most of this downtime, here are a few tips to keep your math skills sharp:
1. Stick to a Routine
Even during the holidays, a little structure goes a long way. Dedicate a specific time each day to reviewing your math notes, completing homework, or practicing problems. A consistent routine can make returning to school much easier.
2. Focus on Areas of Improvement
Use this time to identify and review areas where you might need extra practice. Revisit past quizzes or homework assignments to focus on correcting mistakes and understanding the concepts you found challenging.
3. Practice Math in Everyday Life
The holidays offer great opportunities to apply math in real-world situations:
- Measure ingredients for holiday recipes.
- Track and compare travel distances or times if you’re visiting family.
- Budget for holiday shopping or calculate discounts.
4. Set Study Goals
Set small, achievable goals for the break, like mastering a specific concept or completing a certain number of practice problems. Write down your goals and track your progress to stay motivated.
5. Keep Your Notes Organized
Take a moment to organize your math notes, assignments, and study materials. Use this time to create a quick reference guide for important formulas or concepts. This will save you time when preparing for upcoming tests.

If you’re feeling confident, challenge yourself by trying problems from upcoming topics or redoing problems from previous assignments to see how much you’ve improved.
